Open Debates applauds the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library for jointly proposing to host two town-hall presidential debates.

"The American people deserve more -- not less -- presidential debates in order to learn about the candidates for the most important job in the world, and that means breaking the monopoly of the Commission on Presidential Debates," said George Farah, Open Debates Executive Director.

However, Open Debates urges the Lyndon B. Johnson and Ronald Reagan presidential libraries to adopt candidate selection criteria for their proposed debates that ensure the American people have an opportunity to hear from all the candidates they want to hear from.
